General Policies Regarding Libby Loans
Libby titles are added to the Libby website and Libby app to engage a wide variety of users. We aim to have a wide variety of titles to suit the needs of our students, staff, and faculty. If there is a title or genre missing, please notify the WITCC Library staff.
The purchase of titles to own will follow the guidelines of title purchases as dictated in the Library policies here (link).
Titles in the online catalog can be removed without notice to the WITCC Libby user. Titles removed with a hold or a wait-list will not be notified unless the Libby app does so internally. However, the Library staff will try not to remove said titles unless mandated.
WITCC Library staff will not keep ongoing records of what titles a patron (student, staff, faculty) have checked out. However, Library staff will keep records of what titles have been checked out and in what frequency in order to keep the online catalog up-to-date.
Patrons with a valid myWIT credentials have access to the Libby catalog. Those without myWIT credentials will need to talk to WITCC Library staff.
The Libby app and website has its own content controls in which a user can set up themselves. The WITCC Library staff is not liable for those who do not opt into said controls. The Library staff understand there are a variety of ways in which a patron would want to control the content on the Libby website and app. The Library staff will do their do diligence to make sure that patrons know of said controls. If patrons do not use content controls, it is not on the fault of the WITCC Library staff.
